Failure to Register

If you have been arrested in the Orlando area for a failing to register under Florida statute 775.13 the attorneys of Finebloom & Haenel are willing to represent you!
If you have been convicted of a felony in any state, you have 48 hours to register your current address with the local sheriff’s office. If you move, you have an ongoing obligation to keep your information current. Failing to do so is a second degree misdemeanor punishable by up to 60 days in the county jail, UNLESS, the felony was committed for the purpose of benefiting, promoting, or furthering the interests of a criminal gang. Then it is a felony of the third degree, punishable by up to five years in prison.
Members of law enforcement and probation or parole offices often use this statute as leverage to try to get information on other crimes. Sometimes they use it as a technical violation to incarcerate you if they feel you have been involved in other types of criminal activity but they can’t prove it. Do not give up your rights!!!

Speak to the experienced defense attorneys of Finebloom & Haenel today! We are available for consultation 24/7. Call 407-218-6277 to discuss your options now!
