1st Time DUI

Even if you have never been in trouble or arrested for DUI before, a DUI arrest can be devastating.

A first time DUI carries a maximum jail sentence of six months. If your blow was a 0.15 or higher it is increased to nine months.

The minimum fine for a first time DUI is $500. If the blow was 0.15 or higher it is increased to $1000.

Your license can be suspended from six months to one year.

In addition to the fines, license suspension and any jail time, you must be sentenced to 12 months of reporting probation monitored by the Salvation Army. During the 12 months you must pay court costs, perform 50 hours of community service, attend DUI School through the DUI Counterattack, Hillsborough, Inc. and have a substance abuse evaluation. It is also likely that you will have to impound your vehicle for a period of ten days.

There is also the cost of additional insurance, transportation while your license is suspended and time taken off from school or work. Do not give up your rights. The attorneys and support staff of Finebloom & Haenel  have the knowledge to help you obtain the most favorable outcome for your situation. Our experienced attorneys are dedicated to DUI defense.
